April 10, 2012 so many people around the world will walk without their shoes.
People will do so to raise the awareness on the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life.
So many children live without proper shoes. It exposing them to injury and disease every day. Shoes help kids to get to school in some countries…
So here in Durham, in our own community, what can you do to help?
The Durham YMCA’s is participating by putting together 3 different walks in Durham, NC.
One mile is all you have to do!
You can take the time to do so during your lunch break and meet at 12pm at the American Tobacco YMCA. You will walk the tobacco trails.
You can meet at 3pm at the Lakewood YMC. You will get to taste test Lemonade for Lemonade Day and then walk through the near-by neighborhood.
Or after work you can meet at 5:30pm at the Downtown YMCA. You will get to start at the Farmers Market and head to the Durham Bulls Stadium.
I will be there of course camera on hand to shoot the event at the 5h30pm walk with my kids!
