Le Château de Chambord

The royal Château de Chambord at Chambord, is located in the Loire Valley, in France.

It is one of the most famous châteaux in the world. It has some very typical traits of the French Renaissance architecture .

It also has some distinctive traits that  blends the very  traditional French medieval forms with some of the classical Renaissance structures.

It is the largest château in the Loire Valley.

A lot of people say that the  French Renaissance architect Philibert Delorme had a big role in the château’s design.

It also have been suggested that Leonardo da Vinci may have designed it.

The Château de Chambord  was actually never completed.

It was built, in part  by the King François I , He wanted to be near to his mistress the Comtesse de Thoury.

Her château, the château de Muides, was adjacent.
