I received my hard copy of the magazine today in the mail!
Happy to have been published again. 2 pages spread of photos. Working hard non-stop pays off.
There are so many things I am grateful for. One of them is my trip during the summer back home.
I am leaving with the children on June 15, it will come fast with all the end of school activities. We are coming back on July the 23rd.
During our stay there, we will take one trip together with my parents and head to the South of France. It will be a wonderful photographic journey.
We will leave from Paris June 16 and visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarlat-la-Canéda, then we will take the time to do the little Villages around like Rocamadour: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocamadour, then we will stop by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collonges-la-Rouge. We will visit le Gouffre de Padirac et les grottes de Lascaux where the prehistorics drawings are: http://www.lascaux.culture.fr/?lng=en
Of course Bergerac, is on the way back, it is one of my favorite wine…
This nice weather that we have right now makes me long for the aperitifs outside, the time to have meals outside, time to have friends over.
I will also take a trip to Paris by myself and enjoy photographing the city 23/06 au vendredi 28/06. After that it is friends and kids, and beach, and home:-)
The roads that took us to Chaumont sur Loire were so pretty…
It was quiet and peaceful.
How does depression affect people? How does it affect a relationships? a marriage? Life as a family.
This is I realized a very taboo subject. People who have depression feel ashamed and therefore it is not received well in the social world. The more we talk about it, the more people will get help.
Hopefully this documentary will help men realized it is OK to get help.
I also hope people will understand that it is not just one person affected, but the spouse also. Suddenly your husband become another child that you need to take care of. There is so much pressure on the spouse that people can not even fathom.
I was very grateful to have found a family in Raleigh that was willing to share their life with me, and share how depression affects their everyday life.
Ryan is 30 years old and he lives with his wife Renee 29 years old and son Aiden just turned one.
They have been married for 3 years. Ryan has been diagnosed with depression.
Renee and Ryan are so lucky to have an incredible support in their family. Ryan’s parents have come to visit often to help Renee. Renee’s parents have flown back and fourth to help also. How great to be able to talk about this issues and to have parents caring enough to get in the middle of this crisis.
Not eating appropriately, not sleeping enough, not exercising, seems to have triggered the depression to be back.
He is on new medicine and right now it is pretty imbalanced.
These photos will be taken over 4 weeks course of their lives. I will continue another 4 weeks.

I was able to capture the sunrise in Sainte-Anne, and from that same place I was able to capture the sunset.
It was absolutely beautiful!
